Brief: AIGA LA put together a community based workshop to help bring students and their mentors together to collaborate and celebrate the cultures of Los Angeles. The workshop was hosted by Looking. It involved creating a typographic expression of a neighborhood they were familiar or unfamiliar with. I selected the neighborhood of South Los Angeles beacuse I got to know and familiarize myself with the neighborhood while I was at USC. After initial research was completed we were tasked to create a poster without the aide of a computer in order to help students solve problems without digital technology. We had access to books, materials, and various tools at our disposal. At the conclusion of the workshop, the posters were photographed and displayed at A+D Museum Los Angeles.
